2 days, 45+ seminars, tonnes of students! – ED’09 has come to an end, but we are already looking forward to next year! Here’s a recap of some of the highlights…
Did anyone else get a chance to play the new indie game called Biology Battle at ED? Now anyone can design their own game for the Xbox 360! Not only that, but students, teachers and ED staff were the first to try out the new Window 7 on a humongous touch screen, totally cool and user friendly.
Almost all of the seminars were filled to capacity! It was great to see that so many students and teachers were interested in learning more about the industry of art and design. We’ll definitely try to bring back some of the speakers as requested. Thank you to all of you who filled out a seminar evaluation form, we’re sure all the speakers will be glad to hear all the great feedback that you gave.
Congratulations to Ishara Wijesinghe, the winner of the IKEA design your dorm-room contest! Also, our other contest winner of the Dose.ca Leave Your Mark contest, Danielle Zafirovski got to see over 230 shirts with her design on it handed out! Congratulations Danielle!
I saw students leaving the show with Toronto Library bags stuffed full of cool brochures and souvenirs from all the visiting university, hope they enjoy looking through the materials and memorabilia at home.
Remember to visit the Explore Design website often to find out new contest deadlines and details. And until October 2010, have a great year and best wishes to all of you applying for university or college this year!
